Giants should end slide Sunday
Nov. 19, 2009 / By Danny Sheridan
As
many of my fans and followers know, my favorite NFL team is the Dallas Cowboys.
But that doesn't mean I don't have a healthy amount of respect for a number of
other teams.
One
of the other teams is the New York Giants, and it's been tough watching them
stumble and fall over the past few weeks.
The
G-men have dropped four straight, and they have not looked good in any of those
setbacks. In fact, they've looked lousy.
Well,
they might get a break this Sunday, as New York is coming off a much-needed bye
week and hosting the Atlanta Falcons, who have looked, at best, inconsistent
this season.
The
bye allowed the beat-up Giants to get back some of their many injured players —
a big reason why they've struggled over the past month.
One
player who will be in the lineup Sunday is cornerback Aaron Ross, who will make
his season debut after missing the first nine games with a hamstring injury.
Last
week, the Falcons lost to the Carolina Panthers 28-19 as a 1-point favorite,
with the score going over the total of 43.5.
The
Giants lost to San Diego Chargers 21-20 as a 5-point favorite in Week 9, with
the score going under the 48.5-point total.
Atlanta is 5-4
SU and 6-3 ATS while New York is 5-4 SU and 4-4-1 ATS.
Over/under
bettors should note that the total has gone under in all five of the past five
meetings.
