Week 12 – Green Bay Packers at Seattle Seahawks
Opening Line: Seahawks - 9.5
Monday, 8:35 pm Eastern
ESPN

Brett Favre is expected to make his 252nd consecutive start despite a sore elbow Monday night as the Packers face the Seahawks. Favre is facing his mentor Seattle head coach Mike Holmgren, with whom he won a Super Bowl with in Green Bay. Favre won all three of his MVP awards from 1995-97 and a Super Bowl title with Holmgren as his coach but SBG Global reports that the betting public has long forgot those days and are putting their money on Seattle.

Holmgren left the Packers after the 1998 season to sign an eight-year, $32 million deal with the Seahawks. Holmgren failed to win a playoff game in his first six years in Seattle before guiding the Seahawks to Super Bowl XL last February. Favre is 3-1 against his former coach.

Both teams are still in the playoff hunt with Seattle atop the NFC West division and the Packers still somewhat alive in the wild card race. Green Bay has been extremely inconsistent all season and will only go as far as Favre will lead them.

Seattle is a 9 point home favorite with a total of 46 at SBG Global.

Seattle has struggled, but might be getting healthy at the right time heading down the stretch to the playoffs. Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck will return on Monday. He has missed the last four weeks with a sprained knee ligament. Last week, backup Seneca Wallace was intercepted three times in the Seahawks' 20-14 loss at San Francisco. The loss reduced Seattle's lead to one game over the 49ers in the NFC West. Shaun Alexander returned last week after missing six games with a broken bone in his foot and was held to 37 yards on 17 carries.

Favre left the Packers' 35-0 loss to New England last week late in the second quarter with an elbow injury after being sacked by Ty Warren and Tedy Bruschi. He had done nothing in the game completing just 5-of-15 passes for 73 yards and the Packers were already down by 21 points. Backup Aaron Rodgers played the rest of the way and completed just 4-of-12 passes for 32 yards. He also suffered a broken foot, ending his season.

It could be a good week for Ahman Green of the Packers. The Seahawks yielded 262 yards on the ground, including 212 to Frank Gore, in last week's loss to the 49ers.
